Shipping Delay & Card Art Reveal

Hey, Everyone!
As mentioned in the title of the update, there is an unfortunate last minute delay in shipping. This is due to an Amazon fee change they recently notified us about- full details on the why and how are below. The book will still ship in 2017, and we anticipate the delay won't be more than 2 months. If you have any questions, please message us here on Kickstarter and we will be happy to help! 1) Card Art Reveal!
To help soften the blow of our last minute shipping issue, we wanted to share the first official art for the Mystic: The Togethering booster packs! Below is our first reveal- an image of Steve by renowned fantasy artist and all around beautiful human Brad Rigney! It was a pleasure to be able to bring Brad on for the project, and we can’t wait to show you what else he’s been working on! We love Brad, and we hope you all do too. I mean come on, Brad. Look at you. Cut it out, you handsome devil.

2) Shipping Delay-
As mentioned above, we have been recently notified by Amazon that in late August their delivery fees will effectively double for domestic US orders and that International orders will likewise spike according to destination and weight. This, unfortunately, means that we will be needing an extra month or two to shop for better options with other carriers both in the States and abroad. This is an effort to keep the shipping costs where we had budgeted them when launching the campaign last year- Here are some bullet points just to make clear what is happening!
- All books will be delayed from their original August / September ship date to an October / November ship date
- There will be NO additional shipping charges to any backers, even if Amazon ends up being the carrier
- Surveys will remain open on Backerkit through the end of September so that everyone can keep their addresses up to date before shipment
- If you are moving / going to school / plan on being away for the holidays in November / December, consider updating your survey with a reliable destination for your book
- We will post another update a week before surveys close when books are ready to ship to remind everyone
- All books are set to ship before the end of 2017. This delay is in regards to shipping only

We understand this is a bummer, for us and everyone else, but we hope that you understand it was very unexpected, and that we are giving ourselves a strict time limit to solve the problem so that the delay is as minimal as possible. We are already in talks with 6 alternative shipping services and have a handful more lined up for talks next week. Because short term storage of the books is not possible for our China team, we are holding off on the printing and binding process for a few weeks so that we have a reliable shipment service in place that can immediately take them once they are done. Once printing begins, all books will be ready, boxed, and on their way out within about 2 weeks- like last time, we will be providing images of the printing process once it begins!

Backerkit is live & Shipping update!

Hey, everyone!
We’ve been hard at work the past few months getting everything ready to go to print, and have some updates for you regarding surveys, shipping, and our new fulfillment service using Backerkit. More below!
You should have an email from Backerkit with a link to the surveys and store in your inbox already- but if not, you can find the Backerkit page here!
We have been hard at work laying out and proofing the last parts of book 2, and are almost finished! Because we are printing multiple books this time with the book 1 reprint, our printer has informed us that everything needs to go to print at the same time so as to reduce production costs and storage on their end. As a result, we don’t have the usual example shots of the cover and pages yet- but when we do get them in a month or so, we will have a lot to share all at once!
Everything is still on time to start shipping in August / September as planned, and we will share some more info on our current delivery schedule estimate below!
2) Shipping update-
As mentioned above, everything is still on track to begin shipping in August / September. We will be using 3 different shipment services this time around to avoid the problems we ran into last time- one for America / international, one for Canada, and one for the EU. Currently, we expect the books to ship from our printer to the respective shipping services in August, where they will then be broken down into groups and begin shipping through September. Some countries may receive their books a bit later, possibly into October depending on how long they take to clear certain customs agencies. We will have more specific shipping info the closer we get to August when we can actually schedule the pickups and the boat that will take the US / Canada orders. Please note that for Backerkit there are now options to buy multiple and separate orders for posters, cards, and bookmarks as well as every campaign tier. If unbundled from a tier, the cards, bookmarks, and posters will ship separately and at a slightly later date.
3) Backerkit & Surveys
Surveys will be going out right before this update is posted, and will be handled by Backerkit! It is our first time using Backerkit, so we want to reach out to all of you and ask that if you need anything at all not covered on their platform to reach out to us directly through a Kickstarter message so we can help! Backerkit allows everyone to update and check their surveys as many times as they needs to, as well as add more books or upgrade your tier if you missed out on something you wanted! It also allows us to more easily manage everyone's shipping and fulfilment, so we are hoping it helps get everyone's rewards to them even faster and more efficiently than last time. They do have a service and help center that can answer questions for you, but as always if you need something specific, do not hesitate to reach out to us directly!

Hey, everyone! We hope you're doing well and wanted to share an update with how the project is going! Todays topics are-

1- Thank you!
First off- sorry for the silence the past few weeks! After being funded there was the usual drop off in errored backers, flagged card payments, and inquiry emails- but there were a bit more than usual this time, so we wanted to hold off on a project update until we finished helping everyone who ordered a book and pledged with any issues they had securing their copy of the book. As of this past week, everything is cleared, we have sorted out all the funds, and we are in full production mode!
Thanks so much to everyone who pledged to help make the project a reality! We’re overwhelmed with the support and help you have given us, and are really excited to get book 2 going!
2- Project status
Currently, we are working with our printer on prototypes for the bookmarks, posters, and cards so that we can share them with you as soon as possible. At the same time, we are working on the book layout and cover specs. More on that soon when we have something to show! After these basics are done, we will move into the longer process of proofing the book's pages to check the colors and layout, and when that's done we will begin the final printing process to get the books printed and bound!
As of today, we are happy to share that everything is on track to ship on time and moving at a good pace!
3- Paypal store info
If you would like to add anything to your order, we have set up a Paypal shop over at www.stevelichman.com where everything will be available until we place the final print order when we are done proofing in the next few months. We also answer questions live on Twitch weekly if anyone would like to get in touch about the project or anything else over at www.twitch.tv/stevelichman
4- Survey info
Because many people move in the time between placing an order and the orders shipping, Kickstarter recommends that surveys be sent out as late as possible in order to prevent shipping errors. Because of this, surveys for address info and address changes will not be sent out until the books are prepped and ready to ship- we expect sometime in May. We will post an update when the surveys are sent, as well as message everyone here on the site. Keep an eye out for the survey later in 2017!

With 3 days left of the campaign we want to begin today by sending out a massive thank you to everyone who has pledged, shared, and helped throughout the past month! We are absolutely amazed at the level of support you all have given us and want to say thanks to each and every one of you!
After a lot of messages on the campaign asking for potential add-ons and multiple tier purchase options, we we are happy to share with you our first and only add-on for the final 3 days of the campaign- the Steve Lichman: Volume 1 Bookmark!
Like the one paired with book 2 in the Mage tiers and above, this foil stamped bookmark will match the cover of the first volume, and is available to all backers by increasing your pledge by $5.00 (instructions on how listed in the graphic above)
This bookmark will also be available via Paypal for a slightly increased price on our store starting November first, but we recommend getting it here on Kickstarter at the discounted rate so it can be packed and shipped with your book!
We are also announcing that as of November 1st, all rewards and tier options will be made available via our Paypal store for a limited time for anyone who wishes to buy extras of any reward- including books, bookmarks, cards, audiobooks, and posters! First off, we want to begin by saying a massive and heartfelt thank you to everyone who has pledged, shared, and supported the project since launch! It has only been a few days so far, and we are already close to 1,000% funded! It’s been absolutely amazing seeing the response you all have given the project, so from both of us here, a very heartfelt and humble thank you!
As with our last Kickstarter, we want to make an effort to answer each and every question, be it in our private messages on here or in the project and update comments sections. I will be logging in daily to respond to as many as possible, so please reach out if you have any questions! we are more than happy to help.
For our first update today, we thought it would be good to go over some of the more frequently asked questions we’ve gotten in the past few days that were not already covered in the FAQ section on the campaign- as well as share that the price of the Advanced Samurai Tier has dropped! so, with that in mind, please read below for some news, answers to questions, and new info!

Advanced Samurai Tier price drop!
After reading some questions from backers about this tier’s price being higher than the other corresponding ‘advanced’ tiers, we took a look and realized we were still using a price from a previous build of the Kickstarter before we reduced them to what they should be. we are very sorry for that oversight! but, thanks to the few of you who caught that error, we are happy to announce the price has dropped from $150 to $130! we will be messaging everyone who pledged to this tier already to let them know of the change / refund them the difference, as well as update the campaign page to reflect the new pricing. Because Kickstarter does not allow price edits after launch, the price will remain as 150 on the sidebar- unfortunately, we cannot edit that at this time, but the price has been reduced regardless.
How do I purchase multiple copies of the books?
Because there is no option built into Kickstarter to pledge for multiple rewards, we are instead using a mailing list like with our last book to make additional copies of the book available via PayPal for 2 weeks after the campaign ends. If you would like multiple copies of the book, please send us a direct message here on Kickstarter with your email address, and we will notify you when the shop goes live!
Why is international shipping the price it is?
We understand the costs of shipping the book internationally are high, but the rates based on the books weight and size are sadly not something we can control. Amazon is the cheapest option we have found to ship to most countries, and the fee breakdown for their multi-channel services are available online if you would like to check our rates. Rest assured, after the costs of transit, packaging, and packing are included, we are still losing money on every international order in an effort to try and keep the price as low as possible.
Is there an option to get just book 1, without book 2 attached?
At this time there is no option to get book 1 on its own, but both books together are offered at a slightly reduced price to compensate.
Are the tier rewards available individually?
To make the shipping process less complicated, the items are only available with their corresponding tier. While we wish we could offer a pick and pack option for customizable orders, at this time it is not something we are able to offer in order to get everything delivered in a timely manner.
How do I get a first edition copy of Book 1?
The first edition copies of book 1 were exclusive to our first Kickstarter and are no longer available for sale. However, aside from the first edition title text and signed gold stamp in the front, the books are virtually identical. Both editions have the hardcover with foil stamp, and both contain the same issues inside.
What are the differences between the first and second editions of Book 1?
As mentioned above, the first and second editions of book 1 are virtually identical. The second editions do not have the signed gold stamp on the interior or the first edition title text. The second editions also have minor revisions, such as spelling corrections and slightly altered art where needed but are otherwise the same content as the previous edition.
Will there be an audiobook preview?
Yes, an audiobook preview will go up soon, once the codes for book 1’s audiobook tier supporters go out. We will post an update when it is live.
Will there be stretch goals and add-ons?
Because we priced each tier as low as was possible to keep things affordable, we do not have any plans to offer stretch goals during the campaign. Everything will be made to order based on the number of pledges we receive. Likewise, to keep the shipping process as simple and fast as possible, there will be no add-ons.
