its been a bit since the last update, but after a few months of shipping and managing replacements, we're happy to say that all the books have been shipped and all the audiobooks have gone out! There are a small handful of backers still waiting on their orders (more info on getting them below) And we are about to send out the final rewards- cards, posters, and original artwork, to finish off the campaign! We put a ton of work into book 2's audiobook- it's 13 hours long, complete with music and sound effects, and you can listen to a free preview of 2 chapters below at our SoundCloud link! Read along with your book for the full effect!
We're happy to say the cards are here and they came out great! We apologize for the delay in getting them to you- the reason for the wait was that the first 2 sets of cards were not printed to our specs and therefore not up to our quality standards, so we had to reprint and reproof them. The specific issues, for transparency, were that the first set was printed by an uncalibrated printer, possibly in a different color profile entirely. this resulted in very dark cards that looked desaturated and dim. The second set at the new printing facility was correct in terms of color, but the sealant used to make them look glossy and finished was applied with a streaky brush and they were not smooth. We know its a small detail, but we wanted these to be a nice as possible, so we had them redone a second time. The result is a really polished set of cards we can be proud to send out to backers. we hope you like them! Delivery info at the end of the post!
3) POSTERS-
Alongside the cards, we will also be sending out the limited edition posters! We had the same printing team that did the books handle these and they came out really great. included are every character from both books, with numbering and foil stamping! Ignore the trim line on the left for now- those won't be on the finals! delivery info at the end of the post!
4) MISSING ORDER INFO-
If your order of books, bookmarks, or audiobooks still has not arrived, we are currently working on tracking down all the missing orders to issue replacements or track down the originals. If anything is missing, please comment below and we will reach out to you via the email connected to your Kickstarter account in the next two weeks to get you your stuff! We've emailed with some of you already regarding bookmarks, the next set of which wiull go out this week, but please comment regardless so we can double check and make sure you get your rewards!
5) DUNGEON MASTER REWARD INFO-
The original artwork for dungeon master tier backers will ship alongside their cards and posters later this month! if you have not sent us your character request, please do so! we will reach out to anyone with missing requests directly later this week.
6) SHIPPING INFO ON POSTERS & CARDS-
The poster and cards are currently on their way to us from China and will ship later this month. Because of the holiday slowdown in shipping, you may not get them until after Christmas, but they will ship out from us before the end of the month. Domestic US backers should get them before January 15th, international backers should get them sometime in late January or February (based on the shipping wait times we experienced with the books)

Hey, everyone!
We’re really happy to announce that everything is on track to ship out this week as intended and that this will be our final pre-shipping update. We received the advances ahead of the full shipment last week and everything looks great! Below are some images of the books, bookmarks, and cards, as well as some final pre-shipment info.

1) BACKERKIT CLOSING JUNE 15th
Since we are finally shipping and books are beginning to go out, we will be closing the backerkit on June 15th. Cards will be charged for any additional add-ons and orders not processed from the Kickstarter within a week of the backerkit closing, and addresses will be locked down for shipping.
Please note, June 15th is the FINAL day addresses will be able to be changed, and orders will begin going out soon after. We have kept the window for address updates open as long as possible in order to accommodate people who have moved and are moving due to our extended delay, but once the backerkit is closed, we will be unable to update addresses any further.

The advance copies of both books and bookmarks have arrived and look great! If you missed out on the bookmarks they will be available from our store for a limited time once the shipment of the Kickstarter tiers ends! The book 1 bookmark is available now on the backerkit as a standalone item in case you’d like to add one to your order. Here are some pictures-
3) CARDS
The Mystic: The Togethering cards are currently being printed and proofed. We’re holding off on showing the physical cards until their custom packaging is done and approved. The cards will ship around the same time as the books but will ship separately alongside the book 1 bookmarks and posters directly from us. We wanted to show off how they look though, so below is the final art for part of the deck!
4) AUDIOBOOKS
The Audiobooks accompanying books 1&2 will be sent out a week after the books begin shipping so that they arrive to everyone around the same time as the physical books. The download codes will be sent from our mailing list. We took some extra time with the delay in the printing to add to the second audiobook, and we’re really happy with how it turned out. We can’t wait to share them with everyone soon!
5) POSTERS & ORIGINAL ART
The Posters included in the Samurai, Advanced Samurai, and Dungeon Master Tiers are currently being proofed and will ship separately from the books alongside the cards, book 1 bookmarks, and original art. We’re holding off on sharing pictures of them until the final proofs are approved- more info soon! Original Art included in the Dungeon Master tiers will be sent out shortly after the books alongside their accompanying extras. A survey asking what drawings people want included will be sent out to everyone later this week.

First, if you have moved since backing the Kickstarter, please update your backerkit here-
Things are finally being prepped to ship out, and the Backerkit will close May 1st. Please update your address to make sure your stuff goes to the right location!
Posted below is what we’re being told is the final shipping schedule. As we mentioned in the last update, everything was on schedule to leave China in March, But that has been pushed back a bit due to a factory shortage of materials they had to get more of to finish printing and boxing the order. Full details on this and why it happened are below for anyone interested, as well as a direct copy/paste of the schedule for delivery given to us by the factory last week.
Why were things delayed out of March into April?
Initially, back in January when we got our first advance copy for approval, we were told that Everything would finish up in March immediately after the Chinese New Year break the factory takes in February. This did happen, and the factory finished printing all of the pages, some of the covers, and some of the extras, as well as produce boxes for everything- but the factory ended up running out of the red cloth being used for the cover. When we asked what was up, we were not given specifics at first, only that things had been delayed, but after sending our printing manager to the factory to see what was up, we were told about the cloth shortage. The factory was trying to work with alternative options to match the color without having to order more of the specific cloth being used, but could not ultimately match the shade close enough to not be noticeable. New cloth was ordered, but was shipping direct from it's UK manufacturer. We are told it arrived this week and that things are moving again. This effectively put our project on hold for the better part of March, which is why it missed it’s intended ship date.
Printing of the covers has resumed and the last set of books are now being assembled and boxed. While it’s a bummer to see the team over there delay us back again, we’re relieved to know it wasn’t a serious problem, and was resolved relatively quickly. We were also given an official schedule of when everything is slated to finish and leave port / arrive to backers from the factory, which is pasted below-

REGIONAL SHIPPING INFO
For international orders, most parcels will be going out from France. We are using a carrier with a 99 percent send through rate, which is higher than last time, so we assume everyone’s orders will arrive fairly fast. EU orders will arrive sooner, while worldwide orders may arrive later due to customs wait times. Based on our first book, the outlier countries where things may take longer are typically Mexico, Russia, India, Indonesia, and Australia. That being said, last time only a handful of books didn’t make it through on the first run, and all of them were replaced quickly. Canadian orders will ship from France as well, and not directly from us like last time. Due to Amazon no longer being used as a result of the price hike, most international orders will not have tracking once they leave France, but we have checked with multiple users of our shipment house and are assured that 99 percent of orders go through with no issue. Any orders lost or damaged will, of course, be replaced.
We are also being told that the shipping of ADVANCED tiers with the first book packed in are significantly cheaper to mail internationally and in the EU now that we are not using Amazon, so once we get the final numbers we will be calculating a refund for every EU and Worldwide backer based on the price difference. Refunds will go out to the card on file with Kickstarter, and if they can't go through, we will reach out personally to set up a PayPal transaction.
For Domestic US orders, once the books reach the Amazon facility they are usually fulfilled and delivered within a week to ten days. Aside from the facility mix up and box removal issues we faced last time, the shipment side of things with Amazon went very smoothly once the books actually got mailed out, so we expect no problem this time around.
OUR NEXT UPDATE
Based on the Schedule above, we should have another update in about 2 weeks where we can show off more of the books, bookmarks, and other stuff. In the meantime, we will be checking here and in the comments regularly to post updates and answer anyone’s questions! We’re sincerely sorry that this process has taken so long to resolve this time around, but are happy to see things finally on a set schedule. There has been a lot of back and forth between us and the printers on when to expect things in the past few months, but at last we are finally getting some concrete dates and commitments. Thank you to everyone who has been waiting along with us to see this all get resolved and for the books to finally arrive!

Lots to share today- including photos, new shipping info, and a special surprise added to everyone's book!
First off, apologies for the long wait between updates. As many of you know, we tried something new last time and sent a direct message to every backer instead of posting an update to see if it reached more people and got the word out more about the current shipping delay. It seems to have worked, so we may try that more in the future as well as posting these standard updates- feel free to post below with thoughts! We have also been answering questions daily and posting any news we might have in the comments section here on Kickstarter, so feel free to check in any time or ask any questions there if you have them!
With that being said, we finally got our advance copies from the China team and are very happy to be able to show you the book! Below are a bunch of images of the book, as well as its gold first edition sticker, and with book 1 thrown in so you can see them side by side!
We are also happy to announce that, to try and make up for some of the extended delay time, we added 50 pages of comics intended for book 3 into the book back when it began printing! That means that the book has gone from 380 pages of comics to 432, making it even bigger than we had anticipated! We know this doesn't make up for the delay in shipment, but we hope it somewhat makes up for the unfortunate extended wait time. The book is really big, and a lot of work has gone into making it even better, and almost twice the size, as the first! We hope you like it!

As mentioned in the mass message we sent out, the printing of the book unfortunately got too close to the holidays for us to beat the rush in China where the factories get very busy. When we had to pull the order in August to deal with the Amazon shipping price hike, we basically lost our spot in the printing priority and were moved back in the line. We hoped things would begin printing sooner than they have, but unfortunately with where things are at we probably won't get everything packaged and out to the boat before things shut down for Chinese new year. This means things will pick up after the holiday, later in February, and that books will go out and begin reaching backers sometime in March or April. Books heading to the Americas need to cross the Pacific, which normally takes 4 weeks, then clear customs and be sent to the fulfillers, so they will most likely arrive a couple weeks later than European and Asian orders.
The good news is that everything with the fulfillment services is settled, everything is done, and is just waiting to be packed and shipped. We expect to have advance copies of the bookmarks, posters, and cards coming soon so we can show them to everyone, it's just taking a little longer due to the holiday rush leading into the new year's holiday shutdown. When the books leave China, we will post an update with expected delivery windows for every region! Expect it sometime in March.

As we move into October, the fulfillment process for the campaign is about to begin, so we wanted to post an update with all the relevant info and answers to everyone’s frequently asked questions here! As always, if there is something we do not cover or if you have any further questions, just comment below and we will be happy to help!

FAQ-
is there a book 3 Kickstarter coming?
Yes, but not this month as we had planned. Because fulfillment of book 2 had to be pushed back, we have decided to take the winter and spring to completely finish book 3 before kickstarting the publishing, with an aim to begin the fulfillment process the same day the project is funded later next year. We will post more info on how that is going later in 2018!
When will the shipping process begin?
The shipping process is set to begin immediately after printing is completed. The books are planned to head to the printer in mid-October and will begin printing shortly after. The printing process moves fast, so we expect the books to begin shipping around late October to early November.
Can I still change my address?
yes, just log into your backerkit survey and you can edit your info there! info on how to do this is listed in the ‘backerkit’ update on the campaign page. The ability to change your address will end on October 15th when the order is placed and shipping begins.
The project was delayed due to an Amazon policy change, was a solution found?
After Amazon’s sudden shipping fee increase in July, we had to delay the fulfillment for a few months while we looked for solutions for cheaper shipping. The end result is that this time around, we will be shipping with a variety of carriers to different parts of the world, and only using Amazon for some domestic U.S. orders. We are still working out final prices with some of the other carriers, and will have more information on which shipment service to expect your package from once shipping begins.
How will the items ship?
The items will ship as follows- itemized by reward
book 1 bookmark- padded envelope, shipped separately
Audiobooks- digital download code, mid-November
posters- shipped separately (packed together with cards and bookmark)
Why aren’t all the items coming in one box?
To make things easier on our printing and packing team after the unexpected delay, we have decided to ship the cards, posters, and book 1 bookmarks direct to backers ourselves so as to create less work for the shipping team. This will get the books out much faster and with less room for error.
Why haven’t we seen any update pictures like last time?
Because our printers do not have on-site longterm storage, production had to wait until the shipping situation was sorted out, meaning images won't be available until the printing for the entire order begins later this month. When this happens, everything will be printed all at once, and we will have a lot to share! Like last time, the books will go almost immediately from printing to shipping, but we plan to share what we can when we are able
When will orders officially close?
Currently, we plan to close all orders for this campaign October 15th, the day the books go to print. Any orders made after this point will roll over into the next wave of preorders that will begin shipping in January. This will also be the day people’s cards are charged for Backerkit purchases. Depending on how many errored pledges we get, we may extend this briefly so everyone can sort their orders out, but we expect things to wrap up around this time.
